Working Hours
Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 5:00pm 

Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will be focused on maintaining, developing, and operating manufacturing equipment in a wood, casework manufacturing environment.  They are responsible for keeping production costs down, while ensuring the quality of the product or service is unaffected.  They must have extensive knowledge and insights into projects and continuous improvement.  
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing & conducting research programs
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
Provides manufacturing decision making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services within budgetary limits and guidelines 
Maintains product and process database, through computer program data entry
Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
Supervise maintenance and janitorial staff according to organizational policies and applicable laws including but not limited to; training employees, planning, staffing, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, disciplinary matters
Create, maintain, and monitor facility and machine maintenance checklists
Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues including safety, electrical, fire, security, HVAC and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality, and occasionally inspecting the work of maintenance staff
Plan and receive all repair and installation activities within deadlines and budget 
Track scrap quantities and coordinate scrap consolidation and disposal
Coordinate replacement parts, repairs, and maintenance for the facilities and all machines, leased fork trucks, refuse and disposal including trailers and dumpsters and any contractual maintenance
Work closely with and manage vendors, outsourced service providers, and contractors to protect the interests of the facility
Communicate directly with team members to resolve service requests
Travel will be required including running local errands, travel between facilities, and for procuring machines requiring a valid driver’s license and maintaining a satisfactory driving record
Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, INCL, 3Ph. Power
Available on call for off shifts for problem solving and trouble shooting
Other duties may be assigned at any time
 
Education and/or Experience 
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or applicable field preferred
Minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing engineering 
Experience using CAD or CAM software
Journeyman Electrician Certification preferred
Previous experience in a supervisory capacity or delegating/leading team work assignments preferred
 
Other Qualifications
Working knowledge of facilities and maintenance equipment
Strong analytical skills and relevant technology knowledge
Excellent problem solving skills with a willingness to take initiative 
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead others and work independently
